Hassocks Fatboys Reserves Game of Thrones

House Fatboys 3-2 Westeros Wanderers Adults

Hassocks Fatboys Reserves 3-2 Woodingdean Wanderers

As the Night King and his army of the dead continue to march South the Fatboys watch continues, to guard The Sussex Sunday Leagues Seven Kingdoms.

It has been a long winter for the team, mad manager Jamie Stratton was slayed by Manager Slayer Mark Potter, White Wolf Reece Wickwar bent the knee to become Lord Commander of the Fatboys. Justin Parker moved to the Citadel to become a Maester and Lightning Lord Clay finished his most recent book, a fantasy adventure based in Burgess Hill.

So the long night came to a close at Downlands, in the battle of the basement. House Fatboys welcomed back a number of players for the game. Nicholas of house Davie, the first of his name, The Red Viper of Brighton Ross Joannides, Ser Vick of Burgess Hill and Reek Knott. With the son of sea wind Alistair Jenkins unavailable and the Warden of the West Jordan Walsh travelling with squad, but not named.

The Prince that was Promised, Reece Wickwar, rewarded his players for a good recent run and House Fatboys started the battle well. Manager Slayer Potter, The Googled-Raven Kevin and Ser Vick dominated the early midfield battles.

The early pressure prevailed as Lord Wickwar beat everyone in the air to head in a Little Ando corner. One soon became two as The Hound Kenny Tinnion split the defence into two and found Reek Knott, who calmly slotted the ball home. House Fatboys were in the ascendency, however, their was a sting in the tail. The midfield was cut in half, allowing the away sides player a walk of atonement through the middle to score, shame.

Chances remained at a premium for both sides, as both sides created chances. Lord Balderdash was brought on and it was he who extended the Fatboys lead. A long thrown in from the King of the North Wickwar was nodded in. Could the Fatboys put the game out of sight? Well no. Simon of Flea Bottom came on, he cut the ball back for Lord Balderdash. His drive clipped the post and went wide.

Defensively, House Fatboys had remained untroubled, but Hand of the King Jones was forced into a triple save and then tipped a certain goal on to the bar from an inswinging corner. Lord of Storms End O’Briens dallied on the ball and Commander of the City Watch Wilson concedes a free kick. The ball went beyond the wall to deceive Jones. It looked like the keeper had got a little finger to it.

The last five minutes were a nervy affair, but House Fatboys held on for survival. When you play a game in Sussex Sunday League Division Three you win or you die.

Pre season is coming.
